http://www.twocows.com/preview/51102...q=jpeg+resizer Not the program I use, mine is old and the dotcom it came from is gone, but it looks about the same. Simple little program and twocows is a safe site. You want to compress your image enough that it reduces bandwidth use but not so much it becomes a blob. Any photo editing software will let you crop your image which will help a lot, I don't know how many huge images of small items in the middle of a large room I have seen on ebay.
Now I have a question, is that the only photo hosting site you can use here or will any web based image work with the insert image button?

We'll accept a link from any site that will allow "outside" links. Some will, some won't. Your mileage may vary.

Thank you, I also found the right spot on the user CP to upload images.

    Question Validation

I guess I have to make some posts and answer the questions to be approved and then I can set up my profile, post pictures, and join groups, is this correct?

I was able to post pictures prior to the changes a few weeks ago.... but now I'm not able to upload a jpg. I haven't noticed any other restrictions on my account and was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or has a workaround? Thank you.

I don't know what it was like before the change but I was able to upload a couple of images. They kept failing to upload until I noticed the image size limit imposed, kind of small but with proper cropping should be usable. Large images such as some of the outdoor group shots might not be big enough to make out any details. That is if I am doing it right.

You'll go through a period in which your posts will be moderated. They will take some time to be approved-a few minutes or several hours, depending on who is on deck behind the magic curtain.

After awhile, you'll see 'Registered Member' under your name, and you'll be good to go.

    Adding an avatar?

I don't see a way to add an avatar with my username. I'm sure I'm overlooking something, but any help would be appreciated. My face is immaculate and would make a great addition to the forums and I just want people to have the privilege of seeing it

Chris, you are still a Junior Member. While you've been here awhile, you've not made enough posts to flip over into Registered User status.

Besides all your posts being moderated, it also means there are features in your profile you can't access. You can't add attachments, upload stuff, send private messages, or use the sales forum.

The limitation is there to help us discern who the spammers are, but it is a bit frustrating at times.

So, talk about CW stuff-- and soon enough, you can upload an avatar.

It's probably time we cut this sticky post loose, as the picture uploader works now, and is pretty straightforward. Yay!
