Question Best Book For American Sword Research?

Can anyone suggest the best book for researching American swords and markings?

I would be surprised if such an all-inclusive book existed. Sorry.

    Hallo!

IMHO, this is like recommending movies as different people have different needs and wants..

IF I had to vote for one or two it would be...

"The American Sword, 1775 to 1945" by Harold Peterson. It is old, a bit dated, and the photos are so-so. But a fair "quickie" look-up type source. I have used one since 1977.

or a "more better" one is:

"American Swords from the Philip Medicus Collection" by Stuart Mowbray and Norm Flayderman.

    Curt
In gleichem Schritt und Tritt, Curt Schmidt

Not a real Civil War reenactor, I only portray one on boards and fora.
I do not portray a Civil War soldier, I merely interpret one.
