Hello! Hello! I still routinely check the forum! It was the only place to go when I started back in 1999. Although it doesn't have the activity of the other site, I find the answers people here give to others' questions are generally accurate. I think the big drawback on this site is not being able to easily post images. Nevertheless, I like "hearing" (often as a voyeur) from some of the "old-timers."

I stop by...just don't post as much. It's a shame it's not so busy here.

Yeah, I check here once in a while. The other site has shifted focus too. It's now exclusively a place where newbies come in to get free troubleshooting, and ask the same old questions. The old timers are mostly off, out shooting or just too tired of answering the same questions. Many of the answers given are therefore guesses by newbies themselves. It's better than the facebook pages though, where there is almost NO correct information.

Hi Garrett - I think you summed it up pretty accurately. I still have somehow evaded a Facebook account so I have no idea on that end. The Voigtlander you sold me is still working hard out here near it's homeland! It's still one of my favorite lenses.

I apologize for not at least checking in now and then.

Its been a really tough few years for me. Struggling all the time just to earn enough money for gas to get to the next gig so I can still eat.

Im back in Kansas City and things may be looking up for me as far as work is concerned.

Ill look into transferring to different forum software. One that is easier to use and also post images. I do need to find something that will allow conversion of all the old posts. Too much good stuff to start over.

Ill try to check in more often. Maybe we can a a little more activity going,

Hi Robert - I think that sounds great. I agree with hopefully being able to transfer all the posts - there are some great posts from names like Mark Osterman and John Hurlock (just to name a few). I also think making it easier to post images would be nice. I wish I could offer help, but I really have no computer knowledge.

Hope things get easier for you too.

I always checked in here.

I just stopped asking questions because I thought I was bugging everyone to much with so many questions.

Plus I went back and re-read all the past post and most every question I had was already asked and answered

When it gets warmer here in Michigan I plan on starting to bake some plates for tintype.

I may have come up with a really cheap way of baking them.

If all goes well I shall post pictures of my idea.

I've been and gone from all the wet plate forums on Facebook.
It would be nice if this one offered something different Bob.

Hey Carl,
I'd be curious to learn more about your cheap plate baking techniques.

Hi Joni - I haven't seen any Facebook forums (somehow I've avoided a Facebook account). I'm curious what you find to be the problem with those forums (just to compare this and the other collodion forum with the Facebook forums).

I am going to try it in a week or 2.

I will take some pictures of the setup and post them if it works.

Bob, It was good meeting you at Gettysburg this year. Hope we cross paths again.
