JOHN COFFER WORKSHOP

I am planning to take John's workshop either 2013 or 2014

Can any one recommend a good lodging place to stay that is within 30 minutes or closer to his place, that won't break the bank but it's not a dive either?!

Also I see he has Ambrotype and Tintype workshop I am deciding which to take.

If you had to choose between Glass or Tin which would you do?

If you take one workshop will you know how to do the other one as well?

Thanks

Carl

My wife and I took John's workshop in 2010. We stayed in Bath,NY, it was about 30 min away. Watkins Glen would be closer, but was all booked up. There are also some bed and breakfasts closer than that.

We took the workshop that taught everything, tin types, ambrotypes, glass plate negatives, and printing on albumen paper. If you take this workshop, you don't need to take anything else. If you take just tin types you would't learn about all thde rest. The cost is about the same, so I figured take it all.

John will let you camp either in your own tent, or in one of his Teepees or Tents on the property. I would recommend the tintype, ambro, and albumen course. He has it down to a simple straightforward process that is easier once you've done it. Can't learn it all from the books.
