Event Sponsor: Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War The 2007 Remembrance Day Parade marks the 51st anniversary of this continuous and venerable occasion sponsored by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Sons of Veterans Reserve.

Role of rank and file: Traditional military style parade

Uniform: Dress Uniform: Dark blue trousers, Frock, stock, scales, white gloves, and hardee hat. If no dress uniform, fatigue with white gloves

Equipment: Parade Marching Order Belt, cap pouch, bayonet, cartridge box, canteen, and musket (no haversack)

Colors: All units may display their colors in the parade, but all colors will be massed in a single color company in the center of the battalion. Whether we want to do that is up to each company's Color Sergeants.

Ammunition: No rounds or caps.

National Regiment Activities: Many people don't understand the workings of the National Regiment (NR) and how we fit into it. Here is a chance to learn.

ANY NR member wishing to attend the NR General Meeting Friday evening around 7:00 in Gettysburg, is welcome - exact time and place later. This meeting is for general discussion about the past year, airing problems, presenting ideas, suggesting next year's events, etc., and setting the agenda for the Business Meeting. It usually runs to about 8:30 or 9:00, and is usually followed by a Mine-ing expedition. Each unit commander must have a count of how many of his unit will attend by this time so the OB for the parade can be set.

The NR Business Meeting is Saturday morning around 7:30-8:00 (details later). Two representatives from each member unit must be present for that unit to have voting privileges - one unit, one vote. Anyone else may attend to observe but cannot participate. This meeting votes in the new NR Board Member, takes care of all NR business, and sets the NR schedule for the next year. It usually runs to about 11:00.
