Location

Gettysburg National Military Park. Volunteer living history groups visit the park for the weekend with demonstrations of camp life and drill of the Civil War period. The annual "Forgotten Regulars" weekend with Sykes' Regulars camp and programs at General Meade`s Headquarters on the Taneytown Road near the Cyclorama Center.

9:00 a.m. Saturday to 4:00 p.m. Sunday

Saturday Morning: Ceremony in the Soldiers' National Cemetery honoring U.S. Regulars
Saturday-Sunday: Living History Weekend at Gettysburg. Annual "Forgotten Regulars" Memorial Day Weekend with Sykes Regulars, living history camp and programs at Meade's Headquarters

Registration: Notify your Corporal by 18 May

Fee: None

Where to meet: Meet at Meade's Headquarters (behind the cyclorama), park in overflow parking lot across the street from Meade's Headquarters

Description

Portrayal: July 1863, U.S. Regular Infantry

Role of rank and file: U.S. Regulars, Army of the Potomac Infantry soldiers

Uniform: Fatigue Uniform Sacks and light blue trousers. Forage cap.

Equipment: Heavy Marching Order

Quartering: Bivouac Shelter halves on the actual Gettysburg battlefield

Ammunition: Firing Demonstrations - 40 blank rounds with caps

Food: There will be no cooking on site, meals will be had at the local eating establishments
