Petersburg National Battlefield Park
July 30 - 31

Overview

This is a living history event organized by James Owens who organized the City Point event last year.  Stop #3 is the site of replica earthworks, a winter hut, and a sutler store.  This event will involve manual labor.   The event will feature work repairing and improving the trenches, construction of a winter hut and brush sunshade, in addition to the usual drill, and guard duty.  In addition there will be a ½ mile march from the parking area to the site.  The event will begin at 10am on Saturday, and end at 3pm Sunday.  During that time frame we will function as a military unit carrying out all normal duties. Rations will be furnished and sutler items will be available for purchase.
