  Description

Host:  Antietam National Battlefield

Portrayal:  During the day we will be portraying Meade's HQ after-battle staff meeting with officers, guards and clerks.  The rest of the unit will be portraying an infantry camp as mentioned.  For the Torchlight Tour at night, our three big impressions are the Lost Orders, Provost Claims, and Dunker Church vignettes, and anyone can fall into any of the other vignettes that strike his fancy, so there is plenty of room and lots to do for everyone.   Unless you already have an officer slot for one of the vignettes, staff officers should take along their enlisted kits also for flexibility for the Torchlight Tour.  We can also use civilians if you have an impression.

Role of rank and file:  U.S. volunteer infantry 1862

Uniform:  Fatigue Uniform   Sacks, light blue trousers and forage cap

Equipment:  Heavy Marching Order

Quartering:  Bivouac   Shelter halves on the actual Antietam battlefield

Ammunition:  Do NOT bring rounds or percussion caps

Food:  The park provides a Saturday evening box lunch, other meals will be had at the local eating establishments
