1st Sgt. Chip Smith, Company H, 7th Pennsylvania Reserves, is the 2004 National Regiment Soldier of the Year. Chip has been a reenactor/living historian for over 25 years and has served with the NR for nearly 20 years. He is well known for his experience, expertise in troop handling and his willingness to instruct soldiers and Non-Commissioned officers in drill and soldierly conduct. In 2004, Chip was called upon, on a number of occasions, to serve as the Sgt. Major of the Regiment, a task he took on with alacrity and skill. For his dedication to duty, and commitment to the National Regiment, Chip has earned the title, Soldier of the Year for 2004. |
