Don Chaputa was responsible for acquiring the use of land for two tacticals in the Allentown area, and he managed the logistics for both. This turned out to be a tremendous amount of work, and the success of the events was a direct result of Don's attention to detail. When the National Regiment decided to play a larger role in National events, Don successfully established and commanded the signal detachment at such major events as Gettysburg and the Wilderness. Don was a member 96th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. |
