The poster on my other topic made a comment on lens prices. He said that
You could get them for 40 dollars in the past. Who uses them, besides wet
Plate photographers?? I have my theories, but I wouldn't think many
Could be used in conjunction with digital. Any other points?? Just curious
More than anything else. You could use them with sheet film.
Is it just demand from wet plate???

Demand from wet-plate plus there are many collectors out there who sometimes have much deeper pockets...

There was word sometime ago that someone was buying up all the lenses and reselling them at a great profit due to the resurgence in wetplate.
