What I've been up to.
Hey all, no secret, I stopped making cameras a while back. What I learned doing cameras has just propelled me to other woodworking. I am slowly getting into doing period furniture. You know, the early American stuff circa. 1700-1800.
The woodworking I do is mostly hand work; things like hand cut dovetails, hand planing surfaces, etc. No screws holding anything together, true joinery.
This is a early 1700's Southern Ladies writing desk. The wood is curly cherry finished with dyes and oil, then lacquer.
It is not photography, but should fit into the definition of "period." Anyway, I wanted to post this since I have so many friends in the wet plate community I have made over the years.
