Ive been really busy and on the road a lot in the last couple of years. Ive had no choice since Im am only surviving by doing freelance work. This has left me little time to be an active part of this forum. The use of the forum has really died off lately and Im really wondering if I should continue it. Ill be thinking about that in the next couple of weeks.

If I DO decide to keep it I will be installing new software so new users can get in without me having to ok them. Ive missed a lot of people lately and I apologize for that. There is a need to have some sort of screening process though.

Bob,

Please, please continue with the forum if at all possible!

When I started out on the wet collodion trail in the year 2000, it was this forum, with it's advice and know how that gave me my first successful exposures.

It has been a valued resource over the years, and I will be very unhappy to see it go, (and besides the other forum has banned me).

Do some 'advertising' on the social media forums like facebook.
Many wetplaters are using it.
I think many of them don't even know this forum exists.

Ok Ive gotten some emails about this and I guess just because there isnt a lot of posting going on it is still a valuable and needed resource. I will be looking into changing the software to something more sophisticated as long as I can keep the archive. Wont be able to get to till next week but I will do it.

I may also ask for some help moderating.

Thanks for your support!

I monitor it daily and have solved many problems I have had simply by going through past entries for answers. This forum is a wealth of information. Please keep it going.

I agree with everyone - although I don't post often, I look through the postings almost daily. It was also the forum I depended on when I learned the process through Mark and France back in 1999.

I check it daily as well and would hate to see it disappear. It has a different orientation and tone than the other forum and that also helps it be a valuable resource.

Bob, I have been using this site for over a year and I'm finishing my dark box as soon as my cloth from Freestyle get to me this week. I have not shot any plates yet, but the knowledge from all that post here has made my journey worth while so far. We will be saddened if you do not continue. As mentioned above, just because we all don't post doesn't mean were not looking every day. Please keep up the good work........... We need this site........

Hello Bob,

Please do keep it going if you can - the moderation is worth something, even worth charging for. The facebook group (Kowallick's) has no moderation. Thera are some very unpleasant people attacking other photographers in a very personal way so I left. Apparently the other forum does too.

This forum is still somewhere you can come to and not risk getting abused, even with a newbie question. Personally I'd be willing to sign up if you made it a paying forum with moderation.

Best wishes,
Fin
