Had my first "real" studio session using Bob's DIY light setup. A friend brought her daughter over for a session in her prom dress. I shot a few aluminum plate, then decided to use some "dirty" glass I have had set aside. This glass is new, clean, but old...so it has a dirty look to it.

I wanted to use the dirty glass because I was getting really clean images and wanted to "grunge up" the plates a bit..ad some contrast between her youthfulness and the "formalness" of the dress.

I thought it went well. This is from a half-plate ambro. I am using B&S Workhorse Formula and traditional developer. These are quick scans.

Looks really nice Chris. Im actually surprised you got that good of a result on the standing shots with only the 2 lights and a reflector. Good job! Oh.. nice pedestal too!

I was surprised too Bob. I like the fall off that is there. I think if I were to put that extra bulb (if its blue) in the bottom, that would eliminate the fall off and probably knock a second or 2 off of the exposures...

The reflector is a silver sided insulation panel from sLowe's...white foam on one side, silver on the other. $12 for a 4X8 sheet. That silver kicks back alot!

Paul: Exposures are 4-6 seconds with Bostic&Sullivan Workhorse mixed Feb.1...and then I added 50ml to it 2 weeks back.

The Redford Column (as I call it) is Bob's...not sure where it came from.


BTW, need your address to get you that flange!! I have to go get it this week...been swamped at work!

Chris these have to be fake! You know they never smiled back in the day because the exposures were so long. LOL !!!

Im busted!!! I worked so hard for like 10 minutes with that plugin for PhotoShop Elements to get this to look right!!
