Getting ready to shoot the 11x14 again

I bought this Century #8 camera in 2001 from Mark Osterman. Had it for a short time and sold it. I was able to buy it back a few months ago. I just finished building a new tripod for it. Also working on the box for the silver bath. Will be making a new breakdown darkroom for it tomorrow. 1x2 frame with black cloth over it. Yellow on the inside. I can set it on my current darkroom stand, put it in the van or put it in the back of a wagon. It will be multipurpose.

The camera was made with a second set of bellows but I have removed them for the second time. I also removed them when I owed it in 2001 but the buyer put them back on. Or I think maybe Ray did. All the lenses I want to use on it have too short of a BF to work with the second bellows and the center standard in place. I sure don't have anything that would require a 3 foot draw. It also cuts down on weight and to me looks better this way.

I will be taking it the 150th Anniversary of Shiloh next week and want to shoot it there.

Mounted up the Globe I have on loan. Its a Globe #6 and will more than cover 11x14. I still need to build a box around the hood of the lens on the lens board. Like the one seen in the Sam Cooley picture.

Globe on the 11x14. Going to build a box on the lens board around the hood

The #6 Globe

Tripod with legs fully extended. The table sits almost chest high on me.

Tripod with legs all the way down

Closeup of the Sam Cooley image. This looks to me like a #6 Globe. The camera appears to be a landscape 11x14. I took a measurement of the man on the rights shoe. I took this measurement to be 10 inches and used it to measure the plate holder. I could be a little off but it seems to be an 11x14. I will be building a camera similar to this one after the Shiloh event. I want something that at least looks CW period. Ive already got bellows. The second set from the Century Camera.

Well change of plans already. I just came up with a Voightlander #7 and a Dallmeyer 4D. Both in beautiful shape with hoods and flanges.

The other shorter bf lenses I wanted to shoot on the 11x14 are not period but modern process lenses. Putting the second bellows back on today to accommodate the 26 inch BF of the Voightlander. The 4D will also work.

I could complain but I'm still on cloud nine about getting these lenses. I will purchase them when I'm able but they are on loan to use till then. I really do have some great friends!

Anyone know what the Voightlander 7 will cover? No fall off at all on the 14x14 ground glass. Will post pics later.
