If you ever got close enough to see people shredded into meat, blood and hamburger, you'd never want to "celebrate" war again, you would want to ban it! Been there, done that, never want to see it again; the nightmares still come back, even after 42 years. Can you imagine what those kids from the 1860's had to live with afterwards: murder on a mass scale...
Lowest form of human activity is war, and the bloody bloody "American" Civil War of the 1860's qualifies as one of the lowest points in human history.
