My studio shoot with Robert Redford
Posted by: RobertSzabo ()

Announcement time! Be sure to check out Parade Magazine in this coming Sunday's paper. The cover shot of Robert Redford was taken by me with the wet plate process. I think there will also be a couple images inside including one of my reenactor portraits. It was a pleasure and an honor to photograph this Hollywood Icon for a story on his new film The Conspirator. Thanks to Chris Morgan for pouring the plates!

Had a blast Bob. It was cool pouring and developing those plates for ya!

The Jack Daniels shoot was fun....but working with you to photograph Robert Redford was even cooler.
Awesome watching the plates develop out.

Thanks for the invitation and trust in knowing I would pour/develop the plates to your expectations. I learned from a master, and great friend....you.

I never look at Parade because its just celebrity puff, but I'll definitely look this Sunday. And I get to say that my teacher shot that picture!
I'm glad for you Bob and I hope it leads to more good things.

I hope I don't embarrass Bob, but...
I am sure Robert Redfords people know what we know.
That Robert Szabo, is one of the most important wet plate artists in the world.
and I hope this is just the tip of the iceberg for future commisions for Bobs work.

Please dont get mad.

from all the great work that Ive seen Bob do, aside from the nice technical aspect of the plate.....I was let down.

I will guess that both of you guys seen a better pose/plate in the lot you done...and the art director did not choose to use it.

Im not unhappy with it Ray but Im being honest when I say that is the one plate I was hoping they didnt choose. There are others I liked more. They were paying me though and I was shooting for them so it is what it is.

Just picked up my copy. Another publication I have to get Bob to sign when I meet him!
I believe an editor's job is to pick the photo we least like. Been there numerous times.

Congrats Bob!

I wasn't going to drop anything on that shoot!!!

There were different plates that I guess we will never see publically. There is a standing shot that I just love....I might be the only one that thinks it's cool I guess...
