No one will be doing wet plate at Fort Sumpter. But there might be someone doing it at Fort Sumter. Sorry, couldn't resist since it's named after one of my ancestors.

I'll be there early Friday morning. May drive down Thursday night and sleep in the truck so I can get setup early...it's a 4 1/2 hour drive for me.

Where will you be staying?

Initial reports from Chris arent good. Hope he did a lot better today. Wendell had a slow day yesterday on Morris Island too but he said he was doing good today set up across from Ft Moultrie.

Saturday was a waste. Patriots Point was essentially empty. 7 guns out of 25-30 advertised....maybe 100 artillery...15 civilians.

Sunday was better...more people started showing up. By the time I left there were maybe 12 guns.

I think the possible government shutdown and the pulling of permits by City of Charleston and the anticipated protests stirred up by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton led to the shrinking of this weekends events. Hopefully things will pick up this week.

Good luck to Todd and Wendell.

Ahh....this is how the 150th will differ from the 125th.

al sharpton and jesse jackson will protest the civil war blah blah blah

what showboaters I am tired of them both.

not sure if there will be this kind of negativity for all of the events. i have never heard of anyone really complaining of re-enacting union victories. and there will be no problem with reenacting appomattox.

people werent so SICK of real war 25 years ago. lot has changed..we shall see but im not optimistic about this run of events. economy is down, people are tired.....I just dont see the spunk for all this happening....we shall see.

Gas prices will also have a negative effect.'$4 diesel is difficult to make traveling to an event profitable.

I do think that organizer GREED will reach a new level during the upcoming CW events.

I would not doubt some of these large events will have sutler fees approaching $500. ............wait and see.

You're probly right Ray. That's why I look for events in my backyard. I did a blacksmith arts show this weekend only 30 minutes from home and paid a $20 fee. Did well and might have gotten an ad shoot too.
