I'm off to walk the Old Spanish Trail.

I'll be packing my wet plate gear on my two llamas, Jasper and Chalcy (Jasper is the one with the saddle on)


The first leg will be from Abiquiu New Mexico to Moab, Utah, about 320 miles. It should take me about 40 days to walk this, at 8 miles/day, which should give me time to take a photograph each day.

I'll try to post the photos from time to time.

It has been fun adopting the wet plate process to what amounts to a large backpack. (One that I don't have to carry, thankfully!) I'll post some pics of the equipment I've designed too. It's crude and primitive, but it works. Maybe some of the better craftspeople here can refine the ideas.

I've been there too and I'm quite fond of it but 2 weeks with llamas and sleepin on the ground? I'm too Old for that now. My hats off to you. Speaking of which get a shot of Mexican hat and the goosenecks
