Today's test shots...

I did some shooting in the backyard with a camera that I just finished and thought I would post the results. I am still working out a development issue, but got a couple of good plates out of the day.

It already has a ring stop installed and the shots you see above are after a 2 second... that's right... a two second exposure on a cloudy day under the shade of a tree! For some reason my plates are shooting crazy fast.

I have not tried a shot in bright sunlight yet with this camera but I am thinking I will need to make a drop shutter to do it.

Also am working on a developing/wash issue that I think might help get rid of the haze as well. (crossing fingers).

Looking good! Thanks for posting.

Are you doing civil war events yet?

Looks like you are about ready!

Yeah, based in Oregon although I am scheduled at events this spring and summer in Oregon, Washington, California and Arizona. It's going to be a busy summer for sure.

With Will Dunniway retiring you should do well. I thought my friend John Sage would be picking up where Will left off but I dont think he has been out much. He is the person who bought Will's reenacting setup. Good luck out there!

Well, I hope I get some business. I have been doing historically based photography for coming up on 15 years and have been involved with reenacting for more then 30 years, but this will be my first season shooting WP. I spent many years shooting WWII reenactments with original military issue equipment and had a good time doing that. This I'm sure will be rewarding as well.

I know you know everything about all this, and suggestions from us newbies may or may not be needed.

BUT.

If I were you, especially in that hot environment...Id be getting a nice fly to set that handcart unit under. HEAT IS YOUR ENEMY.

On the contrary, I appreciate helpful advice and information.

The wagon already has a fly, it is just not in the photos.

Cheers.
