Well, I just finished cutting out 150 17" trapezoids out of posterboard when I woke up and realized it is in no way stiff enough to hold up 17" bellows. What is a good material to use? I priced Basswood and balsa, but I might as well buy bellows for how much the wood'll cost me.

On the otherhand, I'm looking at it flattened, not pasted together in the corrugated shape that the bellows will have, which should stiffen it up quite a bit. Will it be enough, though?

That a good reference, but look up jb harlin, jbhphoto.com he has a great camera making section a good bellows making booklet. I was thinking of using hips board(plastic)
next time, I used 2 ply mat board on my first 2 bellows, My 3rd might look pretty good...

Im sorry I cannot really reveal my techniques...but Ill give you a good piece of advice. DONT try and re invent the wheel here. Get an old bellows, take it apart and look at how it is made. THEN, just do the same thing!

If Rays advice doesn't work out, you might try rubbing the bellows with cialis.
Be sure and call your doctor for bellows that won't fold back up after 4 hours.

In this Post-Christmas world, the perfect stiffener material is available for cheap, given the sales, etc...

Go to Wal-Mart and check the clearance section for gift boxes - the kind you put shirts and sweaters in before wrapping them. Its the same cardboard your cereal boxes are made from... That's what I used for my new camera...perfect stiffness, and it only cost me $3 for enough boxes to make a 10 1/2 in. square bellows with 24 inches of draw.

...or you could try the above suggestions.
