Any Reports from the field ...Gettysburg??

Ive read the scathing reviews on the reenacting forums...how did it go on "the row"? Read a lot about dust and heat (and boy do I remember THAT)

i was there as a spectator. i had a nice time. its been over 10 years since i have been there. from what i heard from event workers it was a great turn out for an "off" year. it was hot.

It was me and Del Hilbert doing wet plate on sutlers row. If I would have depended on the reenactors I would have left broke. However, I had a friend of mine bring a bunch of clothes and we dressed spectators for 4 days. Men, women, kids, families. I did around 25 images a day for 4 days. I bet I only did a dozen reenactors all week. The real problem was they were too far away. They had to take a shuttle in to the sutler area and it was an open farm wagon. Not fun with all the dust.

Fantastic weather the first 2 days. Hot on Sunday and REALLY hot on Monday.
