I bought a bucket from him and received it today. What a beautiful piece of workmanship. I'm amazed he can make such a fine piece entirely by hand for only $50.

And he's the oldest of old-fashioned businessmen: he wouldn't let me pay him anything until I received it. How refreshing to find that kind of trust in today's world.

I'm sure it won't work any better than my galvanized pail but it's going to feel a lot more appropriate dumping rinse water into this bucket. In the world of wet plate, it's a bargain.

Good for YOU youll enjoy it a lot. What happens here is that as it dries, it will shrink...sometimes to the point of falling apart. DONT worry about that, should it happen. put it together, reset the hoops and soak the hell out of it.

From week to week, it will dry a little and shrink down, and may in fact leak a while until it is swelled and resealed...just keep water in it for awhile before you back up and go out and use it and you will be fine.

OH and btw it will work better than the pail. you can lean a plate up and it wont slide. A dipper is a nice thing to have along with the bucket.
