old plain collodion

Will plain collodion break down with age? The stuff I have been using starts turning light orange right away after mixing then a dark orange a day or two later. (old relyable) When first used a year ago it would be a lighter yellow orange.

The exposures are longer but still good brightness. The collodion is the mavidon brand and always seemed to turn color or ripen very soon after mixing.

I think the acid might not have been washed out of the cotton well enugh during processing.

I cant answer your question about the collodion but had a similar experiece when I had some bad ether. The collodion worked but turned red in a couple of days.
