If you never heard of the Lindsay Books catalog you should know they have a selection of reprinted manuals on almost every subject from the past, including photography.

I have been using their books for a lot of my how to information and a lot of it is still usable.

Check out www.lindsaybks.com click on the underlined "lindsay books" to go to the list of subjects.

I have several of their books also. One tweaked my interest on stills "mak'in yur own alkehol" The process and equipment in that book was way too technical and costly, up to $10,000. I have the one on build your own camera. One of these days i'm going to try it.

I tried to order the camera building one, and it is out of publication.

Ty,
The book "Photographic Cameras and Accessories Comprising How to Make Cameras, Dark Slides, Shutters, and Stands (Paperback)" you are looking for is available in many other places on the internet. I just checked Amazon and they have three copies available.

There are chapters on how to make all sorts of camera stuff- from cameras to bellows and camera stands. A few pages are dedicated to how lenses are constructed and the different types made.

It is a really good book. I used it to get the ideas for building my 1/2 plate camera. And it only costs about $10.

Good luck,
steve
