tintype and Civil War letters

This is what got me into wet-plate. The history of The Civil War fascinates me especially when it comes to my g-g-grandfather. I hope to visit some of the battlegrounds he fought at and shoot some wet-plate images. Here is more info on my collecton: [zmanphoto.blogspot.com]
The center image is a wet-plate photo copy image I did from a digital print.

I know this is a bit off topic, but does anyone know of a good resource to help me preserve these old letters? Feel free to contact me at zmanphotog(at)cox.net

Talk to a local museum. They have good resources on conservation, and might even be persuaded to sell you some of their supplies. Most important is the questions of light and humidty.
