Default Remembrance Day...

Who is coming to Gettysburg, PA, for the Remembrance Day festivities on Saturday, Nov. 21?
Who or what units are planning to march in town that day?
What special ceremonies do you have planned after the parade?
Or before the parade, on that morning?
Let me know, folks, so I can plan my coverage for the Civil War News.
Additionally, everyone is hereby invited to stop by the lobby of the Gettysburg Hotel, between 7-11 PM and have a formal portrait done by Zangroniz Photography, free of charge.
The images will be placed on exhibit at our usual site, www.zphotos.smugmug.com, then click on the gallery to be called 9remembrance.
If you want to order a copy, fine. If you don't, that's fine, too. No obligation whatsoever.
We will try to make your visit to our studio a memorable one, with two very special exhibits of photography never before seen in public. Some of the images will from last year's ball. Others will be close to 20 years old, so a lot of you will be looking at visuals that may surprise you.
Please stop by. No charge. It will be good to see a lot of you again! Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Julio

Default Remembrance Day Ceremony at the National Cemetery

Julio,

The 2nd Delaware Volunteers will be doing its annual tribute ceremony to the Delaware soldiers who died and were interned at the Gettysburg National Cemetery. We will be meeting at the cemetery gate across from the old Visitors Center at 10:45 am on Saturday morning the 21st and march to the Delaware graves which are close by. The ceremony will be a color guard presentation with a speech by our Company Commander and Company Historian.

You are more than welcome to observe.

Thanks

Julio,
The Maryland Divison Sons of Confederate Color Guard will be their in full strength. Your photograph of the Maryland Division, with the US Capitol in the background, was outstanding!

The University of Mary Washington Reenactors Club (yours truly, president) will be sending 7 students to participate with the 3rd US Regulars in a wreath-laying and parade. Then, on the request of just about everybody, we're going to explore Gettysburg and shop a bit. With two experienced reenactors and a whole group of enthusiastic, history-crazy newcomers, I think it'll be a good day for us.

The 13th Va. Co. A will be in the parade,as well as other members of the 3rd Regiment, 1st Division, ANV.

My Great, Great Grandfather's regiment, the 37th North Carolina was part of Lane's brigade. On Friday afternoon we will be doing a walking tour and discussion of the actions of Lane's brigade on July 3rd as part of the Pickett/Pettigrew/Trimble charge.

Also, the Federal City Brass Band will be marching ahead of the 3rd US Regulars in the parade--it would be great to get some pictures of that!

(Rebecca, it was a pleasure meeting you and the others at the Ft. Ethan Allen living event history last Saturday. Your group's presence was a delightful addition to the activities. If the guys coming to march in the parade need any gear please let me know.)

Default Cedar Creek pix...

Andy,
Lots of Cedar Creek pix in the works.
Unfortunately, I am having lots of computer problems on my end.
As soon as these technical difficulties are resolved, and the pix are ready for display, I shall announce it via the Szabo Forum and other ways.
Please be patient.
I know it's hard. Think about how I myself feel, having captured all these great images but being unable to display them.
You are THE STARS of the hobby. I'm but a humble recorder of your shadow(s). And I'm honored to play my role.
Julio

I'll be attending, but likely just watching. Just thought I'd throw that out there, but no one cares, I'm not famous like the officers.
