Hand Painted Pewter Toy Soldiers?

What will you be selling? 54mm? And who do you get the kits from? I might be interested in some. I used to dabble in miniatures; and have a lot of Imrie/Risley items.

I have painted Union, Confederate, US Navy 1812, and Royal Navy 1812 but they are just in an at ease pose based on I&R castings. The paint job is basic but "accurate."

I don't see why not, but I see that more of a site owner opinion thing.

And yes, aside from the modern era of what painting styles, methods, techniques, and meterials evolved into fashion of popularity- there is always what some look to as "toy soldiers" and the way "toy soldiers" need to be painted to look like "toy soldiers" versus the
attempts with "miniatures" where the painting style and material strives for either "miniaturized authenticity" or in some cases in the last 20-some years a stylized art form.

IMHO, toy soldiers and miniatures can be a part of the Civil War experience.

Besides, in the end, much of what we all do is... actually modeling in 1:1 Scale.

I paint in several styles. Terms are my own.

"Old toy soldier" with gloss paints and a simple paint job on semi-flat style castings.

"Chess set" a simple matt paint job w/o shading and highlighting of details on full round castings.


"Military Miniature", an attempt to look "real" with matt colors, shading, highlighting and as much detail as possible.

If I was doing 1:1 with myself, I'd file off some bulk around the middle and repaint my hair.
