Default Ukuleles in the civil war

I saw a ukuleles that had a makers label saying since 1830 or 1850. Does anyone if soldiers carried these along with fiddles and banjos?

Corsets were manufactured during this period, so we should also ask if soldiers carried them for their cross-dressing stage presentations, so popular in camp.
