    Default Good Knapsack

My federal knapsack is second hand, not the most accurate or of the best construction, and getting worn enough to turn it into a loaner. Having not researched deeply into authentic federal knapsacks for early, mid, and late war, is there an opinion on where to look before buying? Thanks pards in advance.

The best packs,in my opinion, are Serio's.I bought mine from him,and haven't had any trouble with it yet.Besides some minor serface damage to the leather,it's still in almost new condition after 4 years of hard use.And if you have any damage,he will repair it for a low fee.

I take it as Serio's Missouri Shoe and Boot. I've bought brogans from them in the past but don't have a good email address.

I really like L.D. Haning & Co work. I bought a Kibbler knapsack from them and so far I'm very happy with it. Their products are historically accurate and they use period correct paints for their products. His stuff is expensive but your getting a good quality product that’s period correct.

I would agree with Cullen, his work is some of the best I have seen and it don't cost millions of dollars for one either. His email is jeffersonbootee@excite.com .

You cannot go wrong with Robert Serio at Missouri Boot & Shoe. I am pleased with my IC Knapsack.

Another vote for Bob Serio in this landslide federal doublebag knapsack election.

Now that I've found the site again, I ordered one of Mr. Serio's knapsacks. I already have a couple pair of his footwear bought several years ago, but concentrating on brogans I never gave much thought to his "Mr. Knapsack" offering. If it's as sturdy as his shoes, I'll likely never need another knapsack. Thanks for the useful advice.
