    Default Cedar Creek Take Over?

    Hey All,

I heard a rumor today that I wanted to check out, and figured the forums might yield some more info.

As some of you might know, Tony Daniels (USV) has commanded at Cedar Creek for the last few years. From what I understand he has been replaced this year by a guy from the NR who doesn't have a lot of command experience.

Anyway, the rumor is that the "campaigners" are taking over Cedar Creek. The rumor was that Chris Anders is going to run the event in 2009. Does anybody know if there is any truth to the rumor, or is it just idle speculation?

    Regards,

    Default no

Um, no. I am not running Cedar Creek in 2009, nor 2010, nor ever, at least not that I am aware of.

Cedar Creek rotates command every several years to keep things fresh, and this year and next the Federals will be commanded by Ted Brennan, President of the NR, former Military and a true gentleman. He will be leading a Federal Brigade at At High Tide as well.

There is no takeover or coup if you will. Just the CCBF folks working hard to preserve a battlefield.

Chris, I am appalled by your lack of forum etiquette!

You know that such rumors are not supposed to be squashed until the third page of postings, at the earliest.

Now you've gone and spoiled a potentially very good food fight, one with "us vs them" possibilities and general insider intrigue to boot. At least two moderators will now have a nice, quiet day because of you.

    Shame, shame, shame!

I shall now remove my tongue from my cheek....

Trust me, this is one moderator that will not be complaining because of his reply.

I wouldn't be concerned about Ted's experience. I have been under his command with him in every position from SGT Major to Brigade commander and I assure you that he is quite capable.

I also wouldn't worry about campaigners taking over Cedar Creek since I would not classify Chris or Ted (NR) as campaigners. You may want to leave your Honda Generators, and Coleman lanterns at home though.

I heard they were diging up all the rocks on the battlefield because they posed safety hazards and that they were painting the house a lovely shade of pink. I also have it from a reliable source that all food vendors will be required to serve BBQ at this year's event and that security staff will be required to wear tutus.

    Pards,
Yep it was revoked. The boys in Company C was going to let you know that your events are just too mainstream for us to attend.

Since the original question has been answered as well as the questions regarding why there was a command change and the level of command experience of the new Federal commander, I am now closing this thread.
