Smile Sharing a fly at New Market

    Greetings All!

Wondering if I might impose upon one of you ladies to share a fly/fire at the New Market event this weekend. My little guy(5) and I would like to attend, and are travelling a little lighter without a truck.

    In Hopes of Hospitality,

    Amy

    Amy,

I've sent you a private message. You have a home away from home at New Market if no one else has already offered. Check your messages and, if you didn't receive it, do a posting and I'll post the information on the forum.

    Default Northern Virginia Ladies

    Michael & Amy,

I am in Marshall (I66 past Manassas), but sadly won't be attending New Market this weekend as I'm working with a seamstress to get 2 dresses made before 4th of July at Gettysburg. *slightly stressed*

Perhaps, if there are other Northern Virginia Ladies on here, we could get together for a luncheon one weekend? Or at least meet up at an event and chat or share research??

    Just an idea?

I'd be interested. Are you thinking over the summer, or when? I will be back in the states just in time to go to Gettysburg on the 4th. At the very least, we could try and meet at some point then, perhaps. I'd really like that as I'm going with a friend and without our unit- they will be at the first gettysburg event the day my plane lands.

Finding a place to met while at the 4th of July in Gettysburg might be a bit hard to do, OR we can pick a Monument and meet there? I'd like that very much!

Vesture, I will be in the Living History Village with the 8th Georgia, so please do stop by and say hello. I'm sure the ladies of the 8th would extend some Southern Hospitality.

    Amy,

I've posted a private message to you letting you know you'd be welcome at the civilian tent of the 42nd Virginia but I haven't heard anything. Check your private messages for information about how to contact us on site if you still would like to join us. If you don't carry a cell phone, look for us with the ANV and I'll have a sign dangling from my tent with "42nd VA" on it.

That would be wonderful! I"ll definitely try and find it. Or do you know exactly where you'll be? Also, any monument will do. It'd be especially nice to meet up with some other ladies, since my friend is military and I'd love to have someone to talk to/watch the battle with or whatever while he's off doing all that.
    Thanks very much,
    Rebecca

    Default Meeting place at Gettysburg

If you'd like a landmark at the Gettysburg event to have a get together, I'd volunteer to have you come by my sutler's tent (Ragged Soldier Sutlery) and enjoy the shade. I'd suggest during the 11:00 cavalry battle on Saturday as a time because the traffic in the tent will be relatively slow. Just be sure to bring a stool if you want to sit down because my seating is limited. The suggested time also won't conflict with the Victorian Fashions at 2:30.
