Default Federal and Confederate Oil Blankets

I have four Federal Painted Oil Blankets and three Confederate Painted Oil Blankets ready to ship. I use Priority mail. The Federal Painted Oil Blankets are made from the specifications as given by the Federal Quartermasters Office. The Confederate Painted Oil Blankets are made from descriptions given by soldiers around Richmond that said twine was used to convert the oil blanket to a shawl for protection from bad weather. The total charge including shipping is $57.50. Each oil blanket is made from 27.5" wide 8 oz canvas duck so the seam is authentic. Canvas was not 48" wide as what the sutlers sale. I take checks, cash, MO's and Pay Pal. My Pay Pal account is clsinclair@comporium.net which is also my e-mail address. Go to: http://www.claudesinclair.com/Palmet...?1203377648549

For Pictures. The lamp black is in the coffee container.

I use lamp black, turpentine, japan dryer, linseed oil, correct 1/4" brass grommets, and 8 oz cotton duck. Of the 500+ oil blankets that I have sold, I have never had one returned. I have sold to many members of this forum and on other forums. Never had a complaint and I will return all $$$ minus the $7.50 shipping if you are not happy. I used one of these at Rich Mountain and stayed dry while it rained on Friday night. Oh, weight is around 2 - 2.5 pounds.

Thumbs up Federal and Confederate Oil Blankets

For those of you that have not yet had the opportunity to purchase one of Claude's Confederate or Federal oil blankets I HIGHLY recommend you consider it.

I own three Federal and one Confederate oil blankets and the are, simply stated, the best - period. They are not stiff like what you see of other's "reproductions" and I get many great comments on them when I use them.

Don't think they are limited to being used as blankets only. I have multiples that I use to keep the firewood dry, cover the cannon, etc.

Claude also makes great reproduction Confederate haversacks of various types and I have several to fit any impression I choose to portray.

You just can't go wrong here and he ships Superman fast.

Claude, would you by any chance be going to the Averasboro or Latta Plantation events? If so, I'd be very interested in getting one from you there. I'm on a very tight budget and if I could save on the shipping charge, I'd be a happy camper. Drier too.

I could go to Latta Plantation. When is it? I will not be going to Averasboro.

    Thanks,

Claude, thanks for the reply. Latta Plantation is April 4-6 but I don't want you to make a trip just for this. It just struck me that if you already planned on going to one of those events, it would work pretty good. Once taxes are filed, I'll have an idea what I have to work with. There are a few items that I want to get and one of your oil cloths would be a good addition. I haven't been rained on yet since I started this last year but that sure isn't going to last. I'll be in touch, your oil cloths sound like just what I want.
