Try www.reenactorclassified.com. They sell stuff, and try Buffalo Bills gunshop in Tampa florida they have a web site. I bought a Patteron from them for a good price. They sell both short and long guuns.

I really like my Euroarms...But I would Rec. saving your money and buying a new musket. You may find a good used one but you may be buying someone elses junk!

For used weapons, as said before try the search function on here to find people selling them. Or try www.trackofthewolf.com. It will occasionally bring up a used Springfield or Enfield. I have not checked it recently though.

A better question than "which is better Armi-Sport or EoA" might be what type firearm is most appropriate for your impression, and then who makes the best reproduction of that firearm?

To illustrate, Euroarms arguably makes the "better", meaning more historically accurate US Model 1861, however Armi Sport makes a slightly more historically accurate (though neither is particularly good) Enfield P-53. Only Armi Sport makes a repro US 1842, the "best out of the box" reproduction in the hobby. EoA does not offer a competing model, or any smoothbore musket for that matter, so there is only one choice there. And so on...

As far as picking up a used weapon, this is not necessarily risky if you avoid the more trouble prone models like the Armi Sport US 1861 and clone CS Richmond version, the "Zouave" (a model which has no Civil War provenance) and most of the India-made reproduction Enfields. The Italian repro muskets are fairly straightforward designs and any minor repairs can usually be accomplished by anyone who can turn a screw driver. Your musket is going to be "used" after the first event anyway, and there is a good chance some of the historical feature modifications (de-farbing) may have already been done to it.
