For those who enjoyed the past "To the Gates of Washington" and "Summer of 62" , the Western Maryland Heritage Foundation will be hosting the 145th "Fire on the Mountain", the Battle of South Mountain September 1-2, 2007 at the Boonsboro Site.

Some of the scenarios we are considering are-

Advance of the Iron Brigade/National Pike Action

Death of a Brigade- Drayton's at Fox's Gap

Quaker School House Fight- mounted action with Rush's Lancers



Frostown Road- Bucktails and Alabamians at dusk-*

Cobb's Last Stand- Final action around Padgett's Field at dusk-*

* These actions would be simultaneous Saturday evening on different parts of the site and for the participants only, like the Brawner's Farm fight at Summer of '62.

We are working with the South Mountain State Battlefield to promote the event, and together to put on a memorable program.
