People in the unit have not been getting along with the current CO. The 9th is a small unit, and seven of the members want a change. (out of 12) All of us are devoted to the hobby, and love doing it, but when the fun stops, that is when it is time to move on. Too bad I cannot change my username...If anyone is interested, we are looking for some members in the NY area. We will be doing a few events next year and we will be holding a meeting in October to discuss future events.

Looks like 5 quit so it doesn't add up, but I like your use of Mathematics?
Maybe they should become the 4th NY......or since their are 7 members......the 7th NY Cavalry!

My own alleged unit is Company K, 1st Pennsylvania Reserves. We have lost so many members over the past several years that, by my reckoning, we are now the Minus 14th Pennsylvania Reserves!

Cool, you can always pick a specific Company within the 7th NY Cavalry so you can have other interested reenactors portray the same 'regiment'.....
By any chance do you have 7 troopers/officer's in the 7th NY Cavalry?
