Anyone from Michigan do Medical Impressions?

I am looking for someone to teach me the basics of a medical impression, as I am planning on joining the 7th Michigan Regiment as their surgeon. Currently they do not have one so I figured I would fill the spot since that is where my interest is at in regards to CW history.

I have a medical background (as an EMT-I and respiratory therapist), so mainly I would just need to learn more about the historical aspects of the role of a surgeon during the war. If anyone (in or out of Michigan for that matter) can render assistance of any sort, it would be appreciated.

But if you can get in touch with Dr Trevor Steinbach of the 45th IL/5 GA he's an excellent mentor. He's located in IL but does travel to a number of events

Do you have any idea how to get in touch with him? The 45th IL/5th GA website doesn't seem to be very helpful in that regard.
