    Default Officer's School

    Gents and Ladies,

Thank all of you who helped out and attended. The ladies did a superb job with the food, the duty company worked tirelessly to make the event happen and keep things on an even keel, and the instructors surpassed our expectations.

Thank you one and all. These type of events get me excited about the hobby again, just seeing folks from all over getting together and teaming for the betterment of the hobby, so that the men we serve can reap greater experiences.

    Into 2007 we go.

There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things. - Niccoló Machiavelli, The Prince. 1537.

Many thanks to you Chris, and to the support staff. Good food, nice accommodations, and a fairly heavy load of excellent courses. I especially liked the artillery presentation and the cavalry discussion.

Plus the saber drill -- anything that makes me less dangerous in the field is something the whole hobby should appreciate.

Another plus was running into a dozen or more fellow scriveners. We're beginning to turn up everywhere.

Looking forward to more in the future.
