How to install taller front sight on Spiller & Burr

My Spiller & Burr is shooting about 16" hi at 10 yards, I need a taller front sight!!! I've ordered a small dovetailed sight for it , do yoall think the wall of the barrel are thick enough to dovetail? How have you all installed new sights on remington type pistols? She groups well, 2" groups offhand at 10 yds. but I want to get her to shoot at point of aim.

My feeling is there's plenty of metal for a dovetail front sight, but you'll get more knowledgeable advice here:
