    Default WTB: Civilian Impression

I'm looking to try and basically replicate this look. I did ACW for most of the 90's-early 2000's but got out of it several years back. Iím looking to attend an event here and there in a civilian role for now. Might get back into the military side of it to attend events with my old man, but we'll see. Anyhow...anyone have some quality items that would help achieve this look? I'm a 40-42 chest, 34 waist, 5'9" size 8.5-9 foot. Thanks for your time.

This appears more Military, especially a kepi. A better choice for Civilian would be a slouch hat. And the boots definitely appear military. As Burgess of Gettysburg and Mayor of Chickamauga, I would steer you into a very different look for theCivilian side.

I agree, the kepi gives him a quasi-military look, not that there's anything wrong with that--are you thinking of portraying one of Pinkerton's men? It'd be perfect for that, of course. From the same photo, either of the two seated men have a more generic civilian look:

Open to suggestions. I always try to find used items before going to the vendors. Tinkering with the idea of doing a Pinkerton impression.

You might want to search for civilian living history groups and then check on their standards as far as what to wear or get in contact with some of the people from the group.

Mr. Trent suggested the two men sitting as good examples. A good sack coat and slouch hat is a great place to start. Perhaps you could post your sizes and maybe someone has your size.
I would add, as the " acceptor" for BGA Civilians - being a generic civilian will be easier. Pinkertons or othr specific potrayals usually need approval of the Civilian Coordinator.
