    Default Wrapper on ebay

Here is a nice ladies wrapper on ebay with a pic of the inside of the bodice.

    Default Reworked Dress to Wrapper?

Could this have been a dress that was reworked into the wrapper with the front/sleeve/pocket quilting being the addition? Clues I'm looking at; the stipe of the dress going in an odd angle to the front quilted piece, and the lining in the back has a deeper foldover than the fashion fabric.
    Others opinions?

This wrapper is gorgeous. I wish they had shown a view of it without the belt.

I also wondered if it had been recycled...even down to the solid blue silk having been used before, due to it's deterioration. The back certainly has a grand sweep to it, like a dress. I think the angle of the stripes on the front could have been due to using the original front skirt panel, turning it on the bias, or at least at an angle, so as to cut the new long front panels. Thus, the back and sleeves being as in the original dress, the long front panels being cut from the original skirt front. This is all guessing on my part but it's fun to think about.
