    Default Ramrod Thread

Does anyone know what the common thread size is for a 61 Springfield ramrod is? I haven't been able to find it with much luck.

There's a tool called a thread gauge set that is great for figuring out thread sizes. You can get them a auto parts and hardware stores. They come in standard and metric but they are relatively inexpensive. That's if you haven't already used one yet.

Another way you may consider would be to take you ram rod to a hardware store with you where you can test fit the machine screw nuts until you find one that fits. I'm thinking even Lowest and Home Depot have boards that you can test fit.

I'd almost be willing to bet it'll be the same size as a no. 10 or 12 machine screw or the metric equivalent.

Thanks - I was able to get to the hardware store this evening before I head out of town tomorrow for a week. And it is a size 10 in case anyone else ever wants to know.

The threads on repop ramrods aren't always the same as the originals.
