You forgot hat bands made of primers.

But really though, only officers should be allowed to have coon bones.

The population of raccoons is getting right scarce down here, what with every private wanting one.

As Mayor, (and having been in the Piggly Wiggly data center in South Carolina), I want to impose the following guidelines for the Civilian Town:

    1. All inhabitants of Town will erect canvas around their vehilces. No tents to be erected independently of the vehicle.
    2. Crocs will be worn when out of the tent. (If they had them, they would have worn them.)
    3. No fires on the asphalt. All fires will be erected on a fireproof asbestos grill.
    4. Cell phone use is mandatory. You cannot come outside your tent without texting your neighbor two tents over.
5 And finally, everyone must address each other as follows: Mr. Piggly, I am Mr Wiggly. (or correspondingly, Mrs. Wiggly I am Mrs. Piggly).

And, to be proper, have to wear period socks with your Crocs.

    Default Cavalry?

Does anyone know if the cavalry has to supply their own quarters for the horses or will the event organizers provide that as a bounty? I need to know so I can make sure I have enough rolled to last the entire event.

Heard there was an issue getting Wal-mart to loan theirs that sits in front of the store, also a problem with finding enough extention cords to reach the field.. if that be the case will just have to go dismounted like the rest... but dont forget your peacock feathers for yer hat... and the neon canary yellow neck scarf... minimal six revolvers with no less than two speed loading extra cylinders for each...

Well since I have been busting my butt on a new Tron outfit for Dragon*Con next week, I think I'll just go with that, though I have a pretty decent Vivandier outfit that my wife says makes me look hot.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is my supreme honor to announce that His Holiness's Papal Zouaves/Cotton Candy Purveyors shall be attending. His Holiness has also expressed interest in attending, however only upon the condition that he and his staff be permitted to requisition four floors of the nearby George Washington Wyndham Hotel for administrative use. His Holiness has expressed that should this condition be met, all officers of the rank of lieutenant general and higher may visit for free (with a $27.50 donation to the Papal Zouaves/Cotton Candy Purveyors*) nightly toga parties at the Roman style indoor pool. The Office of His Holiness will be in close contact with the event organizers to ensure this prospect.

    Your obedient servant,
Colonel Hezekiah A. "Hezzuh" Tunnamunny IV,
Camerlengo of the Office of His Holiness

Hat Brass - minimum requirements: 1 harp any size. Appropriate branch of service, bugle, crossed cannons, etc. If service in more than one branch for the weekend both or all should be worn at all times. Participants first name and house number should be clearly displayed on cap in either one half or three quarter inch brass numbers/letters. For slouch hats, hat cords of the appropriate branch color must be worn in addition to the required hat brass. Tassels should hang a minimum of 6 inches below the hat brim. All coon bones and dead animal parts should be worn directly in the front and center of the hat or cap. The more the better.

Rank - minimum requirements: The should be at least 4 NCO's for each private with an appropriate ratio of 3 sergeants to every one corporal. There should be a commissary sergeant and an ordinance sergeant for ever 6 privates/NCO at a minimum. There should be 5 wall tents for each line officer and 8 for each field officer, with the appropriate civilians and children to maintain the officers camp and tents. Camp furniture must be easily accessible and used constantly through out the duration of the event. Minimum weight requirements for Officers will be announced prior to the week before the event.

The painful thing is that a lot of what is being lampooned here will turn out to be true at an event near you. We'll now return to our regularly scheduled programming....
