Your Skillet Licker Scarf is made from my period dyed yarns, by Mrs Keith Bartsch. In this case, the yarns are dyed with indigo and cochineal. There is also a natural sheep gray and natural creme wool. Delaine worked out her pattern as a composite of several period images of crocheted scarves.

For those in a hobby with a short memory, Keith was a vital part of the effort to preserve Morris Island, arranged the water crossing of Charleston Harbor for the Reoccupation of Fort Sumter, and was part of the PLHA's week long event at Fort Moultrie leading up to the Hunley burial. The Bartch's spent countless time and effort in preservation causes as they traveled the world with the US Airforce. Now 'retired', he is a lawyer and she teaches nursing in Tulsa, OK.

    Mrs Lawson,
Thank you! I was hoping that you'd see this and be able to say if it was one of yours. Great work. I was pretty sure that it was, but it's been a while...!
    Thanks,
