ASGARD - AP - Veterans of the American Civil War, sitting on high beyond the rainbow bridge and observing the endless whining of reenactors on earth, are taking umbrage with how their descendents are engaging in idle talk about leaving the hobby after the 150th sequicentennial of the conflict.

"What a bunch of wussies," said one veteran of the 165th New York, 2nd Battalion Duryee Zouaves. "They act like American history ended in 1865 and that we never did anything worthy for them to reenact after that." "Yeah... ditto," said another Zouave. "We were still marching around in wool with rifles on our shoulders when we were old farts. How come they can't do that? No gumption."



"Heck, even after we got too broken down to carry the rifles we still put on the wool and hit the streets every Memorial Day. We held meetings. We raised money for monuments. We kept going even from our wheelchairs 'til the day we kicked the bucket. Wimps... all of them! They ain't getting in here, by Odin! No-sir-ee! Shame! Shame!"

Maybe that's the answer to all of us old farts trying to reenact young soldiers. We can just change over to being old farts reenacting old farts doing post civil war reunions. Just think of the parade potentials!
