Default SC Confederate Relic Room and Museum - Photographs

These were taken purely to research the uniforms and equipment of South Carolinian enlisted infantrymen/volunteers.

The first series shows uniforms and equipment.

The second part shows period photographs of soldiers, along with some background.

Photos can be founf here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/6639691...7630246311234/.

If you have trouble reading some of the descriptions, just ask me. I know the pictures aren't of the highest quality, but they have definitely given me some ideas on how to improve my impression.

"America has no north, no south, no east, no west. The sun rises over the hills and sets over the mountains, the compass just points up and down, and we can laugh now at the absurd notion of there being a north and a south. We are one and undivided." -Sam Watkins-1st Tennessee

Thanks for posting those. Do you have a photo of any comments about the brown civilian looking sack coat towards the end of the group?

The placard next to it said it was "unusually well-tailored" for a late-war jacket (I think it was private purchase). It has a breast pocket, which may or may not be a field modification. Also, it owner was wounded while wearing it. When he returned home, it was patched up.

*NEW* I'm adding a photo of an original Palmetto Musket that was bought at auction. It has the initials (?) G.O.M. carved into the stock. It's in the same photo stream as the SC Relic Room.
