There has been some prior conversations on this shirt in this forum, but I don't recall if mention was made of where to procur a pattern. There is a pattern available in a back issue of "Collector and Military Historian" the magazine of The Company of Military Historians. This is the one I use to recreate that shirt, with the material and proper 3 hole buttons available from NJ Sekela

Yes, it is a square cut pattern with shoulder reinforcements, neck and sleeve grommets, reinforced button and buttonhole on the fold over plackets, smaller cuff bands, and a few other variances from the normal shirt. It does indeed utilize the selvedge edge at the bottom of the shirt, so it therefore requires one to fold the body to make the rectuangular body. Do yourself a favor and contact the Company of Military Historians to get that issue with the notes from the original

You can also request an information sheet from the Museum of the Confederacy on the shirt- It has detailed measurements and drawings. I think the cost is $30. I had been planning on making it, but picked up one second hand made by Ross which is top notch.
