Greetings,
The B&O Railroad Museum: Ellicott City Station is currently looking for volunteers either units or individuals to help tell the story of the Civil War in Howard County, MD. We are looking for Union military impressions or civilians to help do drills, demonstrations and tours to teach and inform visitors about life during those times. Ellicott City Station is the Oldest Railroad Station in America built in 1831. During the war, members of a local guard unit called the Patapsco Guard guarded the station and railroad along with other units including the 12th New Jersey and 138th PA Co. B. For units wishing to participate, overnight lodging is available at the museum.
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 4pm. It is great for the summer as well since the buildings are air conditioned. If you are interested in learning more or would like to volunteer, please email Travis Harry at tharry@borail.org. Please include an information about you or your unit along with any recent pictures of your unit at events. Thanks for your time and consideration.
Travis Harry
Director of Operations and Volunteers
