    Eric,
Joe is a great recruiter, and to throw my 2cents in, if you are interested in Federal at all, ours is a group of like minded folks that came together from all over the region, of guys who were committed to trying to do it right. We are spread from one guy was in Branson, MO to another guy in San Antonio, so we are all around the region, Ark, TX, OK, MO. The Captain lives in Tulsa, and I'm the First Sgt down in SW OK, and as Marvin mentioned our Corporal Steve Shore who is in Little Rock area. As Joe said, it you are ever so inclined, look us up. We have a couple of "reformed" Confederates in our ranks , guys who noticed in our area there are lots of CSA units but a shortage of Federals and decided to change impressions.

If I can get my Federal impression together and up to par, I will most likely check the group out. I definitely want to try and find a good fit. My first time out, I made a bad decision unit wise (and people wise) -- it ended VERY badly. My main focus has been Confederate, mostly because that's what I know and what I've been drawn to -- maybe because it fits my personality or maybe because of my ancestry (who knows) -- but I would have no trouble jumping into a Federal impression. Of course there would be some things I'd have to learn.

I will most certainly keep everyone in mind as I make the move, get to know some new folks, and decide which way I'm going to go. I appreciate the responses -- very much! It definitely helps -- not everyone in this hobby has been as kind.

Hey y'all, I'm originally from southeast Louisiana and now live in northwest louisiana, I'd like to get involved in a confederate unit up here, battle of Mansfield and others within range.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Default Hope Area Units

You might contact Historic Washington State Park. The curator has been active in reenacting in the area for 20 years, along with his father who lives in Hope. I'm in Arkadelphia and fall in with them sometimes as the 3rd Arkansas, but I am a member of the 24th Missouri. PM me and I can give you some more info.
