Saturday, June 16th, next month their will be a living history and observance of the Battle of Secessionville. Not to be confused with the November event at Boone Hall Plantation, this is on the actual site on James Island at the SC-DNR Fort Lamar Heritage Site . It will be hot and the mosquitoes are awful, but it was an important battle to Charleston. You can camp out friday night or just come out for the day on Saturday.
This is a short notice, but we are looking for early war 1862 Union or Confedertae impressions. This will be a 150th observance, so if you are nearby or in Charleston come by. Send me an email if you can attend. Having some Lousiana elements out there would also be nice. Bring your own rations and water.
